That takes a choker necklace to a whole new level. It reminds me of a tribe of people that I heard of. They valued a long neck and so the women would use these gold rings to stretch their necks out little by little. However, once they started they could take the rings off since their necks would no longer be able to support the weight of their heads. o.O Nice photo overall with the lighting and colors. I don't know why but my eye goes that little freckle on your shoulder. lol It goes from face, to rope, to the freckle. I'm not sure why, but it's just kind of funny. Anyway, kudos to you, good job! :3

You refer to the Padaung (kayan lahwi) of Burma, I think, chiriku.
Yes, this picture reminded me of that too, when I came across it.
But the title of this piece is "Captive II". So I am guessing that the rationale here is that perhaps the rope-wrap around the neck is to prevent an iron-collar-and-chains from chafing the neck of the captive. I don't know however whether in fact the rope would make an iron collar more comfortable.
It's a beautiful portrait. The rope draws attention to her mandible, which in women is much cuter than a guy's, owing to the effect of high levels of estrogen on bone development.
(I am trying not to stare at her eyes! I don't want to fall into a trance, only to be discovered still in that state nine hours from now by my carpool when they check to see why I didn't answer the honking in my driveway!)

I must agree with others with regards to your eyes, amazing features. But to see your neck so strongly wrapped in rope and yet you hold that perfect position of intense strength. That to me is a wonderful additive in your art.
