The hair looks a bit cartoonish. I need to find finer eraser sticks. Suggestions? Anyone?

On the eraser side... The fact u sliced one up is creative enough as it is, you don't need erasersticks, lol.
Kneeded erasers can do wonders and if you do were to use an eraser stick, I sometimes use one from "steadtler".
You can cut it at an angle to have better control of the eraser (and with a decent sharpness).
