Yes, that was a stylistic choice ^^ I always liked the effect you can get by having a different "default" size of pupils on different characters, now I'm using it conciously
Small pupils are to depict either a stern, diciplined, quick, snarky, energetic or aggressive "type" of character, kind of. Though Susan mostly have it since I gave her aunt them too (Amelia, coming soon! 8) ). It was also for contrast, since I imagen her as very cool and laid back (and very smart)
