Description Mufasa's Fall

This is a powerful scene to me because you just see Mufasa struggle and give his all to save Simba and it literally kills him. To add, his realization of what's about to happen before he's thrown off the cliff must've really just hurt him even more.

Fantastic work! What gets me in his look of horror as Scar says 'long live the king.' That look got me more than any other shot in the film, expression wise, and I mentioned this to one of the film's cell painters back in 2001 when I toured the Burbank studios (being a Disney CM has it's perks!)

He said that Mufasa's look of horror wasn't for himself. He realized he was about to die right then, yes, but that was not his main worry. His horrified expression was due to the fact that he knew Scar was going to go after Simba next, and that he would not be there to protect his son.

That little moment has double the impact for me now.

This might be my favorite scene in the whole movie (does that make me a horrible person? ) This pic is great though; I love the perspective. And the detail of the claw marks on his paws is a nice touch
