I personally love her!
Yes, what she did was selfish, but all the Diamonds are selfish. At least she valued life other than her own. That's way more than Blue or Yellow could say at the time. She valued change. She valued uniqueness. She found beauty in everything.
What I love about Steven Universe is that all the characters are multi-dimensional. No one is perfect. Much more like real life than most other fictions. And it's beautiful. Thank you, Rebecca Sugar and the rest of the Crewniverse! You ROCK. (Pun not intended, but I'm owning it now.)
I'd love to hear your thoughts! It's been way too long since I've engaged my Gems here.

It is a very stunning stain glass window of Pink Diamond. And unlike the other two Diamonds, she has a pure heart that shimmers in the sunlight.

I agree with your points, but the fullest implications of what she has done have yet to be realized. Love her or hate her, she is basically the true villain of the series. We already know that a lot of pain was caused by all she has done. The preview for the next episode also shows that there’s probably a lot more to come. I am pretty sure Garnet splitting is just the beginning of what’s to come, now that the secret is out. I don’t realistically see Steven just being ok with this, either. PD’s supposed shattering was already hard enough for him to swallow. Now add-in the massive amounts of collateral damage from this massive cover-up and the heavy burdens of secrecy dumped on Pearl... I can understand fully why it’d upset Garnet.
I actually still love PD/Rose, though. I can’t really judge her too harshly, I can relate.
As for the story writing, I am bothered by how suddenly they revealed this. It all fits the existing story quite well, but much as stagnation in this show is frustrating, it’d have been nice if they built it up a bit more before exposing Rose as PD. I feel that they didn’t do much to confirm that PD wasn’t actually a tyrant. All they really did there is send a lot of mixed messages about who she was, then almost instantly revealed the truth. I hope they’ll go more in-depth with PD as a character.
Can’t wait for the season to continue.

I don't know why stories have to have a villain. It over-simplifies. I also get why Garnet split up though. And I can't wait to see how that plays out. This reveal just opens up so many possibilities!
Also I don't think it seems too sudden if you watch the whole show over a more stable schedule. Cartoon Network has created a monster with their hiatuses.

Due to the schedule, I watch the show online, via Dailymotion. The pacing is just a bit off, like they revealed it too soon and stuff. Kinda don’t have time to talk about this now.
I agree about the villain thing. I kinda hope in the end Steven can come to a peaceful resolve, which is more than can be said of his mother. It does seem like Blue might be more lenient than Yellow, so that’s progress, maybe? Who knows about white. It is concerning that she’s pretty much never mentioned, and considering her only appearance so far, it’s probably not good when she has to step-in...

As well as, she had a human zoo in space and that they are still in her base instead of freeing them back on Earth and treated humans as toys to her until Greg set her straight.

That is one of many things. But IDK if she could do anything about that zoo. She gave-up that identity, so she’d need to stage a jailbreak. It’s more than likely the zoo will be revisited. And one of the potential implications of what Pink has done would be Steven revealing that truth, or it getting out.
Guess we’ll just find out. I doubt we’re done with the zoo though. Crewniverse doesn’t really do that. Still, the zoo is a minor, and forgivable offense compared to starting a war, faking your own death and causing the death of countless many of your people, followers and enemies alike, lying to your closest friends (and family), nearly causing the destruction of an entire planet, forcing your most loyal friend/follower to keep your dirty secrets, etc... The zoo makes sense, I see the logic. Doesn’t seem like a slave camp, it’s much like the zoos that we, ourselves build. We don’t entirely understand every animal we put there, and we influence their behavior (such as mating). The zoo I don’t fault her for. It is one of the contradictions introduced to PD being a tyrant. Also, very much draws a parallel to Rose. Not understanding humans I can understand. But everything leading to that war is harder to forgive. At best, she was reckless and impulsive. But, that also stands as proof Yellow was right to say she wasn’t ready for a colony. And as of yet, there’s been no proof she really even tried to convince the others.
Like I said, I still love Rose/Pink. I just can’t believe what she has done. But really, I am more annoyed with how the build-up to this reveal was. The reveal, itself was brilliant, and it fits perfectly into the story.

True, she's not perfect, and her mistakes cost the lives of many gems and wound up inadvertently causing trauma to Pearl, but I do believe she really did believe in the ideals she preached.
