Haha, well, I wanted to go for a somewhat dead look...but maybe it didn't work out all that well....

I love the profile of his face and the shadow around the eyes that you've given him and also the subtle shading on the lips. Thefloral patterns are stunning! You're very good at capturing the Byzantine feel.

Ah this is an older one, that I'm not really happy with. Digital art was a real challenge at this point - it still is, but I think I have improved a bit.
The patterns are really just inspired by the patterns from the text. They're really pretty. I only included a little bit of them.

Thank you!
I've just began on digital art recently and I think I know exactly what you mean about the undo button! It seems to have a bad influence on traditional drawing as well. I noticed that when painting over lineart I often now get this feeling that I would like to "undo" a brushstroke or colour.

This looks great! I really love his expression and pose here, very lovely (although he's "unloveable", haha). His eyes also look great!
However I think you were a bit lazy with this - his shirt doesn't look very refined, and I don't really understand what that thing on his neck is supposed to be. :0
Still, this is a lovely drawing!

Great work! And finally you have revealed the real name of your character, not just the first letter! I do not understand why he is unlovable, it must have something to do with his character because I think he is quite handsome. I like the ‘pointiness’ of his face, his expression and his hair. Also, the background is very good, creates great atmosphere and matches with colours of his hair and clothes. The red stains on his chest are great for focusing attention, is this blood or just stains of blackberry juice? Somehow I think the former is more probable… Seriously this is a very nice piece of art, I tried it as my desktop and it looks really good!

Goes well with the llink you included- not a group I was familiar with, so thanks . I don't know as I'd go long with the previous comment- I think the picture is simply two different levels of stylization , and works well on that basis. You are developing a wonderfully expressive line , and restraint in your use of it- the expression of brooding melancholy is very well done. By the way, properly speaking dArt critiques are in response to the artist's requesting one, appears after the description usually . Then you get a chance to respond to the Guru's who run DArt as to whether you think the critique was fair or not.

I hope you liked the group. I'm very fond of them, especially Morrissey's lyrics.
I do think the ear wasn't that good, but the pointy nose was what I was going for. I'm so glad the emotion is visible, thank you! He's a bit of a moody man, somewhat neurotic, so I wanted to make him look brooding but not overly depressed or heartbroken.

Oh, don't worry about ears- generally thinking of a cup handle will do, or a small 'c' inside a larger 'C' - too much effort at anatomical correctness will draw attention away from the features. Like drawing each individual tooth in a smile- yeech
