Description
Based on a short story in The Magazine Of Science Fiction & Fantasy, around 1979.
This non-commissioned art was inspired by a story I read, and, dreaming of being a story illustrator someday, I painted a mock cover...
My recollection was the ship hit a rock jetty (background), in Long Beach harbor. The oil slick merged with an alien presence, creating a blob-like half machine.
Acrylic on canvas.
