Ananse and how the wisdom spread over the worldEdit: I ended up giving him a a vest, I hope it looks okey! ;D
Hi guys! This is the first of seven pictures I am doing for my project work in school - a children's book with stories from Ghana.
And I really need your help and opinions! Please tell me if you see anything that you think looks odd and give ideas on how I can fix it.
Example on that is the lightthingie that comes out from the bowl. It supposed to be wisdom and I have no idea how to illustrate that. D;
I also wondering if this character Ananse, who is the maincharacter, looks to naked? It strucked me that maybe he is showing way to much skin for it to be proper in a children's book. But at the same time he is a spider. What do you guys say?

Alla färger i hela bilden gör att den blir superbra i en barnbok med afrikanska sagor!!

Jag har för mig att jag har läst om den där snubben. För många år sedan. Hm...
Hur som helst så är det en jättefin bild! Jag har faktiskt inget att klaga på.
Och jag tycker inte att du ska klä på honom. Han är som sagt en spindel, och en bar överkropp har aldrig skadat någon. ;D

How big is that bowl/hat-thingie supposed to be? Because it's something that makes it look like it's in the foreground and not in the back if you know what I mean?

BUT. I think it looks good. ^^~~It's very well done and the background looks realistic~
Hm, I don't think he's too naked. It could've been much, MUCH worse. XD And some monsters are half naked in Disney movies. (and the Genie, the Genie! 8'D)

I like the colours, a good way of showing that wisdom comes in diffrent shapes and well, colours. And I don't think he shows to much skin but personally I would give him a vest or something to 'humanize' him even more.

Ohh, I think a cloud of colours is a perfect way to illustrate wisdom! And I don't think he's "showing too much skin", there's nothing inappropriate about a naked African male torso. *smile* Spider's don't usually wear clothes, as far as I know. ; )
By the way, I read an African story book with tales about this character, the Spider, a couple of years ago, and I LOVED it. It's so cool to see you do an illustration of him! :,D Your prodject's gonna rock, lady.
