So I lied, I didn't draw them with sparklers, I'm sorry XDNot much to say aside from I had SO much fun drawing these guys!!! Who doesn't monster boys in speedos? I mean seriously.
Sulley, you make me smile, Mike you're killing me, and Johnny....stop with the bedroom eyes, Geebus. Was gonna draw Randall, but didn't have time.
And I don't care if Johnny's VA is Canadian. Its Independence Day, I do what I want!

I KNO' RIGHT? Mike surely did not, but he had no choice. My muse called for his embarrassment. As much as I dislike him, he is a fine piece of monster specimen, mmmph. That, and flawed characters are awesome!

Yes, they are, because the flawed characters are the most believable, the ones that most of us can easily relate to. I tried to dislike Johnny, really I did. I knew ahead of time that he was going to act like a d***, that he was going to use my dear Randall and discard him, and I really had a tough time reconciling with that. I can see where Johnny is coming from though, the intense pressure he'd be under from his family, and from the description that Pixar gave of Johnny's old man, I can just about feel sorry for Johnny. I've had to teach kids from that same background, and if their parents had any idea what they are doing to their kids, emotionally, when they push them like that to be perfect...I can see why Johnny is terrified of failure, deep down, and like Sulley, he's put up a good front to hide behind.
But yeah, he's still fiiiine-looking. Pixar should put out a calendar of their hottest guys and gals in some sexy scenes; bet that thing would sell like hotcakes! Johnny and Randall definitely need to be in it, too!

See, I easily disliked Johnny because I've been treated badly by people who were just like him, so I related to him in a negative way. I like...haaaaaated the character so much, but I'm getting better and dislike him MUCH less now. My friend has the very same opinion on why he acts the way he does that you gave, but I have a hard time being ok with someone who makes the lives of others miserable just because it makes them feel better about themselves. Hopefully like Sulley, he'll learn to monster up and drop that front. He'll be more bearable that way for me, haha. Despite my 'ehh' opinion of him, his design is FANTASMIC flksdajf.
I was actually thinking of doing a calender thing just for fun, haha. And sexy scenes....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I can see where you're coming from, since at one time or another, unless you ARE one of those people just like Johnny-rich, "old money", privileged, preppy, feel like everyone else is beneath them and theirs to use or step on as they please-you've probably run up against one or two in your lifetime. I know I have, even as an adult. I tend to be more like Mike when dealing with them, less intimidated by them as irritated, but Johnny is unique among those preppy, smarmy types in that he's got real muscle to back up his threats and won't hesitate to use it, at least on another guy, and I really do believe that Randall was scared to death of the guy because HE'D been up against big, strapping dudes like that, who thought they were "cool", and come out on the worse end of the deal. He gets this "oh, CRAP" look when Johnny slaps Chet, like he's afraid he'll be next.
I think at some point, though, Karma is going to bring Johnny down to earth, big-time, and force him to really bring his own fears and insecurities out in the open, as Sulley did, and deal with them. We have to remember that in the movie, he was only 22-23 years old, and I know for a fact that as "grown" as people that age like to think of themselves, they still have a lot of growing, emotionally and mentally, left to do, and some of it is inevitably going to be through that infamous School of Hard Knocks. I'd wager that if we could see Johnny again now, at 44, he'd have changed quite a lot, attitude-wise.

I was talking to another person about that, and I'm pretty sure Johnny would be the type to mature as he grew older, which would be neat to see. I'm around his movie age right now and I'm discovering there's a lot about the true adult world that I don't know about and its having me consider some things about myself as a person. So i guess, on that level, I relate to him more than I think (or want too flkasdfjka).
Well, thanks to this conversation, its going to be harder to dislike him. THANKS A LOT.
