I wouldn't have been surprised.
Lithuanian custom : city skiing.

Salomon, the skiing company, once made a skislope constructed from wood in Munich's Olympic park.
People actually used it in floodlight at night.
One day we saw the polar lights shine over the bright glow of the floodlights.
That was maybe ten years ago during the last sunspot maximum.
