I am not a fan of Lord of the Rings, I haven't even seen the movies, but i am a fan of art. This, my friend, is art. I know any one of my friends who are huge Lord of the Rings fans would love to have a poster like this.
With the use of very simple colors, you were able to create such immense detail. The only thing that slightly bothers me is the beard. One size is extremely lighter than the other,and I think you can fix this with just little darkness here and there.

His expression is great. So "Gandalf-like".
It reminds me of any scene when he is deep in thought.
I really like the shadowing a lot as well.

Aw thank you! That was exactly my idea! I wanted to draw a sort of portrait from Bilbo's journal, just as if the hobbit had immortalized his friend in a quiet moment! Ok, I know that their adventure did not provide for breaks...

It may not be plausible, but it's an artist's prerogative to dream, and Bilbo's journal would have looked much better with that

I would write a critique, but I cannot find my words. I can just say that this is a beautiful work, one of the best of Gandalf I have ever seen and those shadows look good (I never manage to make them look ok).

It is pretty sad, though, that after the third film in The Hobbit trilogy comes out, we won't be seeing any more beautiful Middle Earth films.
