Description
I tried to visualize the feeling of treachery. It's based on a sketch I did nearly a year ago and since it has been a restoration week, I decided to draw a proper drawing and see how it goes. I don't believe that the symbolism here is really hard to get but just in case I will give a brief explanation of what I had in mind. The mask personifies the idea you have formed of theperson you know or trust and when an act of treason is revealed, that mask is no longer needed . The realization as painful as a poisonous sting and there's is nearly nothing that makes the person you used to trust recognisable anymore.I feel i've gone quite emo and overdramatic with this one but I'm glad I producing anything creative these days
! Pencils, chalk. About 3-4 hours.

I really like this. The splashes of colour and... is that chalk? I remember doing a piece something like this one some time ago, but it was lost in my moving. The little stringy eels are a disturbing, effective way to show your disdain for this masked characters obvious deceit and debauchery. Very effective piece

Thanks, in recent months I have been tried to figure out how to accurately personify feelings and abstract idea and I believe this drawing is one of my best attempts. Shame you lost yours , I would really like to see an iteration of the same theme drawn by a different person

Well, it was a bit different, but I was stricken with the mask being removed and having nothing behind it... I remember doing one like that. Anyway, great piece, I really like the simplicity and the bits of colour.

I like your traditional art skills and use of a psychological component as the subject.
My hang-up is that: these two people look very similar. I don't if they are sisters or friends but they could be twins due to the shape of the face and hair style. When I think of treachery as good versus evil - and evil being a psychological "nude" or "base" state revealing a disgusting, poisonous character.
Here they both look nearly identical - which is interesting - but this doesn't contain enough contrast between the two characters for me, IMHO.

That is true, I didn't realize this until mentioned, it really wasn't intentional. Thank you anyway for pointing it out, I always appreciate some constructive criticism
