Description Another combined commission from S2ka and ObssessedPerfection.
The subject is a Macross II: Lovers Again VF-2 Valkyrie. A favorite of mine and my best friend, the Knights had recovered several LAM designs, but never specified what they were. In this case this particular unit is piloted by Maj. Kerewyn McAlister

Might thee be Screamers? Some Amaris weapons cache they stumbled upon that could have countained some examples of an unknown initial production run? That would be a cool way to tie stuff onto the universe's lore.

Actually, the story of how those came to join the unit was pretty similar to your idea (GMTA) - but I think once the books come out you will appreciate the hook we put in the story there. Let's just say it has to do with a missing jumpship locked in a kind of FTL induced stasis, and the race to recover them and their valuable cargo before the Word of Blake realizes whats right under their nose!

That is indeed interesting!

Will he be publishing if offically, or as a fanwork, if I might ask?

Anyways, can't wait.

Unfortunately, my best friend passed away in 2012, so the books are written posthumously in his honor. Due to licensing issues however, they will be strictly a fan work - which is how I am sure he would have wanted it anyway. This was a project we had been toying around with since we were kids, and its only until recent events that 1 of us has been able to get around to really doing something about it. The domain we have picked out is: digitalfieldsgaming.com/
There is a bit of demo work up there already. Mostly its just out web guy tinkering with stuff and waiting on additional art files, LoLz

I expect it to generate quite a bit of attention from BattleTech fans; The original art pieces, and overall story lays a very rich background for people to play with, alternate to playing in the set "Dark Ages" BattleTech story that exists now.

Oh, I'm so sorry.

I've already added the site to my favourites.

I also appreciate the idea. Althoug hthere was a lot of backlash back in the time against the Jihad, I still think it is a concept that adds a lot of story possibilities to the universe. I myself have done some thinkering about it when I was younger. I even had in mind this overall storyline about the Nova Cats being expelled from Irece, and then coming back along the Ghost Bears and some mercenaries to face some bandit queen made warlord by the WoB. This was before the setting was fleshed out, of course, but I guess it was as good of an idea as any other.

I never stopped writing about it, though. Have a few thingies in my gallery if you're so interested.

I appreciate that. He is another delayed victim of the Iraq/Afghanistan war - PTSD caused him to take his own life. Ironically, BattleTech (And Homeworld) were one of the few things that still brought him joy. So writing these books for me, is a labor of love, not just for the game, but for my friend.

GMTA- I let it be pretty well know what I thought of the "Dark Age", but the concept of the Jihad had a lot of merit, and in my "alternate reality" that makes up these books I put that concept to good use. That's the biggest problem for the BT universe; there needs to be constant conflict to keep the stories generated - Which, by the way, they have set up a universe that does it admirably. In any given year from 2750 (and earlier) forward, there is always llke 3 wars and any number of conflicts ongoing throughout the Successor States, means things never get boring for a player who follows the written BT plotline.

And yes, I would enjoy reading those a lot. I have it marked on my tablet so when I sit down away from the comp, I can give them a peek!

Oh, my. That is indeed horrible.
And he was also an Homeworld fan to booth. If you need help with those stories just say. English may not be my first language, but I write on it. Can tell you something about pacing, do some editing, and give my final opinion. Just ask.

True enough. Without constant war there is no story, although real world does provide examples of wars that simpyl don't get to end, so there's that. On the other hand, I'll say that the Dark Age did grew on me, especially after the work and some retconning made by the CGL team. It seems to be pretty interesting now, although the harm has already been done.

And thank you for your interest. Hope you enjoy them. ^^

Whats your primary language? I wouldn't mind a translator being on my staff - maybe put a multi-lingual version of the books out!

And thank you again for your condolences, we appreciate them very much. He was a good man, and a good friend. He will be missed.

I'm Portuguese, actually. And, hey, I've written BT stuff in Portuguese before, including with proper translations of faction names and such (official sources didn't even tried. Suffice to say, it sounds weird that way). If I can help in doing that, tell me something, I certainly wouldn't mind. It would be really cool to help expand the project.

I'm certain he will.

I've been working on the stats... cause of a piece of custom tech, and tier 5 equipment, namely the component armor and the handheld weapon, it makes it possible to have an LAM that isn't paper thin somewhere in its design. Thank you for the compliments though! I am sure the artists appreciate it!
