Overall a great comic that has a lot of resonance for me personally. I like the combination of cynicism, humor and thoughtfulness that emerges as the strip progresses. I feel like I know the person this strip is about, and in some ways have been him. Consequently, it's fun to laugh at him... but not TOO loudly.
The one thing that I think could have been a little more carefully considered is the progression from teenager to old man. It seems like it takes seven panels for the character to age from 17 to 30 then two panels to age from 30-75. It feels like there is a chapter of this guy's life missing.
Part of what really makes this piece pop is the addition of sight gags in the artwork. The bearded brooklyn dad guy in panel seven and the Che t-shirt in panel four are spot on. The line quality, character design, layout and lettering are all solid.

Hey I never had any intention of living in Austin, but here I am now!
It's pretty fuckin nice after growing up in the Midwest. I definitely couldn't move back.
I did enjoy this superb example of classical tragedy though. Poor guy never made it to Austin.

I've always lived in Austin. Thought it was a a small town most of my life, with nothing interesting to do.
Didn't want to go to UT because it seemed like the obvious choice, so i'm at a private college now.
I've still never been to a concert.

Austin is a US city in Texas known for art, music and films. Many creative people, university students, and hippies live there, so young people in Texas love to talk and dream about moving to such a "cool" city. Similar to dreaming of moving to New York City or Los Angeles.
