Description The Gemini Observatory consists of twin 8-meter optical/infrared telescopes. Gemini South Located in Chili and Gemini North located on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Together these telescopes can access the entire sky.

Finished in 1999, Gemini North is one of the newest telescopes on Mauna Kea. Using advanced Laser Guide Star technology, the astronomers can effectively cancel out the atmosphere.

Oh just Photoshop.

File--> Scripts--> Load files into stake--> Select image set--> Stack--> Change top image layering to "lighten"--> Right click top layer--> Copy layer style--> Select remaining layers--> Past layer style

It may sound complicated step by step like that, but its really easy.

How do you do your time lapses? Do you have a cable release with a screen that you set the exposures or do you use some kind of computer system to take the shots?

To get the images one needs an intervalometer of some kind. This can be either hardware or software. I initially used my camera tethered to a laptop, using Nikon’s Camera Control Pro. This setup, however, was quite cumbersome and provided little freedom. I now use a small hardware solution that plugs directly into my D200, or operates my D50 through inferred. What I use is called pclix [link] although both Nikon [link] and Cannon [link] make similar products.
