I like this version of the cup theme a lot, especially the reflection in his eyepieces. What's in his right hand (is he about to destroy someone!)? I think I may start to like the Captain, considering the current state of affairs in politics and culture. We may have an apocalyptic instinct. But what I have seen of late is a scary collectivism that is so hostile to individual liberty that politicians are mirroring Orwell's nightmare. In other words, whenever I see the numerous images in this series I imagine Obamacare on the left with its individual mandates and fascist-theocracy on the right with all of its illegal airport pat-downs. We are getting ever so much closer to embracing the Captain, and at least he is open for his love of chaos and death. Maybe science, reason, tolerance, and love of liberty can rise in the ashes?
