....Detail shot from yet another massive painting that I've been working on for the past 2 months...It was going to be 2 meters in size, but my processor overloaded from trying to process a 35'000 pixel file with 50 layers.

i was wondering what is your standered size to work with. iv been starting digital art but i dont know what size to work with i dont want to make them to small so i cant use them properly if need be but i donno.

If you would be so kind, I have a couple of questions:
If the file is 35,000 pixels, does that mean it's about 187 x 187 pixels?
What kind of processor do you have, and how much ram do you have?
I'm using a pentium 4 with hyperthreading, and I have 4 gigs of ram, but when I work with a picture that is 4000 to 5000 pixels on a side my paint dot lags behind the pen as the picture gets more complex. I'm considering getting a good graphics card for my box.

key is to paint when you are zooomed in more and use less layers
