Why did I have to click on it? Oh, my migraine. >.< This is so trippy. It's fascinating. Gorgeous angle. I could stare at it for hours.

This is really cool. The arches of the stairs make it kind of disorienting. Neat shot.

The thumbnail made it look like it was a tree with a spiral staircase around it.

The fish-eye-lens effect makes the stairs almost look like they're spiral, which reminds me of one of the puzzles in Myst.
It's the one where you need to unlock a padlock on a trap-door leading to an upper lighthouse room, but the only key visible is chained to the floor by a short chain far too short to reach the padlock. There is a spiral staircase leading down, but it seems to all be underwater... (all part of the puzzle)
That's what this picture reminded me of, and it's a good memory because I liked solving the puzzles in Myst. I only needed help with one of them (the lift/elevator with three buttons).
I recommend the version known as RealMYST, available from gog.com (Good Old Games) because it's easier to navigate. The game is great fun if you like solving puzzles because you can't die, and the only way you can become hopelessly stuck with no way out is part of the game and you do get adequate warning (if you're paying attention).
The game's one failing is that it's "play-once" because the puzzles never change, but for about $10 from GOG, it's still cheap fun.
Oh, and the music and visuals are both superb!

Heh heh. You'd think so, wouldn't you? But no, I just love the game.
It was the first game to combine puzzles and clever intrigue using a first-person perspective, and I've never found anything to compare to it, including the sequels.
Oh, and I forgot to comment on the picture, didn't I? Well, I like it not only because it reminds me of the Myst game, but also the composition is evocative, making one wonder about the people who stayed there and used the place.

interesting, had a friend (photographer) go into a dilapidated residence and was arrested for trespassing so a word of warning always get permission first, it respects the owner and saves your ass.

heh, as someone who's been arrested, charged, and convicted of trespass in all it's various degrees. Let me inform you that asking results in a "no" approximately 99% of the time and that's when there's someone to ask, so while it sounds like a nice reasonable thing to do, it's really not.
