"To protect my loved ones…"Along the updated version of "Lifting Off", I decided to show and share the vectorized Cutie Mark of Nyx. I… kinda went as far as I could into making it as visually appealing as possible. Personally, I can’t help feeling the description it was given it was rather bland – I mean, c’mon, PenStroke, why couldn’t the shield have a symbol, or something?
– and yet, I milked it for all it was worth, giving it a metallic border and a crescent moon-shaped highlight.Like others who have done and published Cutie Marks out there, both original and of the Canon Characters, I also offer this Cutie Mark to anyone who wishes to use it for their work. I just ask you to credit me for it, and also if you could, show me your work with it.
Edit: It has come to my attention that apparently PenStrokePony has declared this to be the "Official" version of Nyx's Cutie Mark by adding a link to this image in the story itself. PenStroke, I wanna say, you have no idea how honored I feel by this. I loved Past Sins, and I'm really glad I was able to give you something worth your approval in return. Thanks a lot for this.

Meh, I've got a taste for subtlety, and this Cutie Mark has been around since before Shining Armor was even a character in the show.

Yeah, basically. I read the original version... well, not original original, since even back then it was undergoing rewrites, but basically the first "finished" version of it, and made this contribution shortly after. Then it got updated to fit the later canon, though to be honest, I never saw much of a point to it. The story was alright as it was, so it didn't need to change, though admittedly, without said changes, we probably wouldn't have had some of the more interesting sequels to it, since one of them heavily focuses on Shining Armor.

Other what? Other fics? Yeah, Past Sins had many sequels, all of them shorter than the original with some being just simple one-shots. And that's from the author, Penstroke himself. Other fans have written their own fanfics to this fanfic.

Yeah. Heck, one of the earliest rewrites/edits, made even before the story was finished, was done to flesh out Nyx because there were complains about Nyx being either too flat of a character, or too "Mary Sue"-ish. PenStroke listened to the criticism and addressed what he could of it, giving Nyx some quirks and more character.
