This was a live, one hour photoshop demo I did at the CTN expo this past weekend. I know, one hour seems nuts, right
...BUT the trick was having premade brushes and shapes, and reference photography. So a large part of this image was throwing a lot of brushes and shapes onto the canvas, and then 'finding' the scene. This is a technique I'm very fond of because it makes the artistic process A LOT more exciting! Sometimes you don't know what you wanna paint, so this method is a great way of sparking new ideas.I go over this method very clearly in my downloads, you can see more details here: [link]

I'm having a hard time grasping the whole picture, there seems to be a ton of stuff, and not really knowing where to focus. But very very nice indeed anyway.

I think what really attracts me to this particular piece of work is the very free
looseness that unites the image as a whole. It's like everything is coincidentally
different, and it works so well.
The scene reminds me of the cyberpunk future from the Cloud Atlas, actually.
