7 light years and one eternity later, I present you...


the tutorial.


Here's the deal: this is the first nail art tutorial I've ever done; I only figured my photo set-up out when I was done taking the pictures and was very unhappy with them and myself until I started editing (what is sequence of tenses, I don't know, it's late). Then I quite liked them. Aaaaaaanywho, if there's anything unclear, or there's a stupid typo (typed in 'shop, didn't proofread), do ask/tell. Please. Sorry. Okay.


NOTE: this technique can be used not only on nails, but basically anywhere: shoes, clothes, starships... Only keep in mind that the waterdrop halo trick won't work on porous surfaces.


WARNING: please, make sure your acrylic paint is non-toxic!

BEAUTIFUL nails!!!  and for a space-case like myself... I"M IN LOVE!  Sadly, this would be more work then my job would allow.  It sould scratch off the first five minutes of working.

But no one said I couldn't paint up some FAKE press on nails and reuse reuse reuse!!!!

Painting fake nails is a great idea! Not only will the design last longer, it also takes seconds to put them on. Insta-mani for whatever occasion! So if ever you make those, please make sure to snap a picture and share it with me!

Thanks for the great tutorial! I finally did it, didn't turn out as great as yours, but I think it's not too bad for a first try. The acrylic paint was a good idea, it's so much easier to use than nail polish! Check out mine if you're interested: tinypic.com/r/2n7k3fp/5

It's really hard to find a good nailart tutorial on DeviantArt, but yours is so great! I've tried the galaxy design twice with nailpolish and it didn't look nearly as good as yours, maybe I should give your tutorial a try
I also visited your blog, but it's quite empty I've started mine last year, too

I've tried this mani with polish, too (here it is! ) - and acrylics win by miles for me. They're just much more opaque, blendable, and easier to work with and clean off. 


Yeah, I've totally neglected my poor little blog...hopefully, I kick myself into proper posting once I'm back home in February, as I have tons of various material and this situation is pretty shameful. What's your blog's address? I wanna take a look!

I bought a set of cheap acrylicpaint to try onestroke and for details, but I haven't used it yet
Thank you Few people actually ask if I tell them I have a blog xD It's in german, but I upload every design on dA in english + instructions And on my blog are just few more pictures.

I'd like to try the one-stroke technique, too - I've seen a badass tutorial for 3D droplets somewhere.

The sponges are a great idea, tho I also read about using the brush like applicators, luckily those are all cheap

I have an addiction to buying nail polishes that I use like once And all kinds of lotions so I can start with that easily

Oh, I'm just the same with polishes. But there are so many pretty colours, I can't stop wanting and getting new ones! At times there's a particular polish I like so much I start thinking "I totally need to get a backup bottle" but then realise that it'll probably last me a lifetime anyway! xD
