Description This is one of those shots that as a photographer the more you look at it the more you dislike it. I’m still not sure if I like the angle or not. The shot was composed to avoid surrounding residential to the right which meant a tighter crop but I can’t help but wish it was a bit wider. But enough of that. This was shot with a B+W 110 filter which allowed me to obtain a 2 minute exposure even though it was reasonably light. I also used a Cokin nd grad over the sky to avoid the sky over exposing.

p.s. I got drenched after taking this shot.

Absolutely wonderful shot

I think what might be bothering you is the fact that the object takes up so much of the right hand of the frame and breaks the whole "rule of thirds".

But to be honest, I love the shot .

what ever its limitations to you as an outside observer I can only comment that its bold and simple and visually arresting. Top marks. and take an umbrella next time!

I understand where your coming from where when you look at it more, you dislike it more. However i have to say it is the opposite for me with this one. Great clarity and overall comp. Love the colors. The best part of this (to me) is the fact you used a 2 min exposure. Really made everything a bit better.
