Trade with teh hawt ~TheDarkestPrince ! WHOOOO!Sephar, her created character for my comic Power of War, was bestowed by a Mystic Spirit with a powerful gift. One use of the power may be inferred in here. But sshhh.
All the inner working of his powers I'll have to figure out with Vex when the time comes. We still have awhile before he shows up.
In general though, he's pretty much the most special character so far and the second of two characters with unnatural colors. I'm trying to keep the new version of the comic as realistc as possible. But jeez, I liked his character so much I didn't want him to change! <3
Anyway, I am pleasantly proud of the end result of this considering it was done entirely in photoshop without a sketch guide (which I rarely do). There are a few things I do not like in the least, mainly the snow. Stupid snow. >:[
I love the planet though. Even though it doesn't fit in with the style of the rest of the pic at all.
(I used the first part of this tutorial: [link] for it. Though with my Elements photoshop I had to just wing everything half way down...)
By the way, the planet is Xanétean, home to the race Tillanix.
*Note: The two big hills with the trees look familiar to anyone?

I frackin love this character, and the planet is seriously kickin arse!! And its always good to have some oddities in a comic just to keep it enteresting ya know what I mean? Overall seriously awsome pic!!

Hey what kinda shading did you use on him? This is beautiful and I've been trying to go more into detail with my shading lately see ----> [link]
And I've been asking and looking up other tips but I can't find any other style I like.

Well, for this one I used the Airbrush Pen Opacity Flow brush in photoshop. Which is somewhere in the middle between the Soft Round brushes and the Airbrush Soft Round brushes. Then I just Guassian Blurred it a bit. C:

I use Artweaver, But I do the same thing with my shading, then I usually go over my Shading and Highlight layers with the gradient tool (On a separate layer of course)

I do the gradient technique for my comic covers. Every time I try it on normal pictures it fails. xD; lol normally I'll just shade stuff black, lower the opacity, and guassian blur. Sometimes I'll change the blending mode to Overlay or Soft Light or something, depending.

I usually change the color of it to a dark purple or blue. it looks a little more natural

Well, it was a mix between a grass brush and hand-drawn. I have a couple grass brushes I made myself and I tried it at first but wasn't quite happy with it so then I started hand drawing it. So yeah, it's about a good even mix of the two. But glad you can't tell! That makes me happy. X3

Oh! No, he's simply a flyer. PoW takes place about mid-history on the Mystic World (around year 7,000 out of over 12,000) and at that time there were all these rare species of creatures. They were classified as Felines, Canines, Hoof-footed, Flyers, amd Half-bloods (I'm working on more appropriate names for the felines and canines right now). Flyers were pretty much just one out of the groups but with the exception of wings so they got their own classification. More on the classifications will be explained in the comic. ;3

Oh you discovered my secret! Haha, actually I only just recently noticed that symbolism connection. It was done unintentionally at first, but I liked it after I figured it out. But actually that same area is seen in the old Power of War pages. It's where the characters basically lived at at first. I don't suggest going back and looking for it. Those pages are old and ugly! xDD
