A new page with all kinds of ridiculous goodies! A shift back to Tanner and Jacky and bringing back ancient characters with design tweaks! How maddening.
For those who can't remember these guys, check back to these ancient pages here . They are literally so old they are barely canon!
As far as the design tweaks, I'm tempting to make Finnie look older, though this is still kind of an open process. She is definitely old though. Like... human equivalent of something around late-60's/early 70's. The main indication of her age is her 4 tails, 2 of which sprouted due to age because she is a "commoner" and therefore should only have 2 tails naturally. The Triplets, likewise, still need their 2 additional tails. Those will painfully grow in later. Ahhh glorious nonsense alien biology.
The Triplets haven't changed too much except I removed some of their markings for simplicity sake. I was stupid in having their bows differ though. Why do I torture myself.
This situation should be fun.

Ya know, I've wondered why nobody has ever asked this! It's definitely normal for children in the toddler range and below to act more "feral". Ambivians as a species, while sapient, moderately sophisticated creatures, also have animalistic behavior. They growl, snarl, bear their teeth. It's not seen as "proper" behavior but it happens. They also will portray "cat like" behavior such as social grooming and snuggling (I haven't been able to show this yet with the exception of Bluebell and Vivi snuggling in the bed on these pages The Selection - Ch2 page 24 ) which is considered very normal. Biting and clawing isn't out of the question in physical fights either if punching doesn't suffice.
So when it comes to children, they are naturally feral in how they act and "grow out of it" to an extent as they age by observing and learning from the adults around them or are otherwise taught differently. This is why the triplets will go from running around on all fours to walking normal interchangeably, like in this page. And the biting and stuff is pretty much exactly the behavior you'd see in puppies and kittens, which is a mixture of testing their bite strength instinctively and exploring their environment (much like human babies who wanna put the world in their mouths too). Eventually they will grow completely out of it and only do the typical animalistic behaviors that are considered "normal" for their species, like what I said above.

They do!! They purr and grumble/growl like cats do. They don't meow or anything though, at least as adults! Babies might cry a little and it might sound kitten-y but when you think about it, kitten cries sound like baby cries soooooo

I know excatly how that butler feels... 1 of my cousins was always pulling my hair the moment I got my head low enough for her to grab my hair... luckily she was only 4 at the time and finally stopped when she was 6. And for Tanner I can't even describe how sorry I feel for him right now ;n; I only know the pain but can't imagine it 3 times worse.

Good page. You can feel the nostalgia since we get to see some really old characters X3 I'm surprised that the butler ain't screaming his lungs out from their bites O.o

Thanks! I dig it too~ It was a little awkward drawing her right at first because my style has changed so much since back then, so it was hard getting that grin to look right on her. But I'm content with the results!
I mentioned it on one of the pages but forgot which... but the symbol is for the Spirit of Intelligence (which can also inferred as Trickery)! To be precise, the symbol in the middle of the swirl is symbolic of the galaxy(ies), such as "encompassing" all knowledge of mortals, but the jagged line underneath it (which I just realized I forgot to add!! Oops! I gotta fix that ffff) represents a barrier between it and the circle on the bottom (Creator) to show one can gain all the knowledge but will never surpass the all-knowing of the god. Though it is not straight like the Divine Line on the Creator Symbol because gaining such knowledge can often cause havoc in attempts to disprove or reach the level of Creator.

Oh man I actually remembered right after I posted the question. It's the first page this chapter that has these guys. Though I'm happy I asked since I got some more insight! I may not ask many questions any more (all the notes I've sent, hooly) but I'm still always super curious about it all. I can't wait for character reference sheets (and that elusive Ambivian one too~)!Β
