For seemingly an unknown reason a cult following claiming to be a church caught the wild stallion and took him to their halls. They used the stallion for a fighting ring and as the killer to many they judged wrongly.

It was because of the actions of a young elf that he was freed and later bonded to her after she showed her worth.
Ash still shows scars from where the cults holy rope lights cut into him
