I didn't know about the rules . The anime helps me to understand some rules
and still, watching is not enough to know everything .. we need to play it in real

I've played that game on NES . I don't know the game name cos I've played when I was 7 years old .
It was fun .. I remember the arrange of the cards then it just allowed to collect some to make the game easier . I love the game and I didn't know it was famous in Japan XD thanks to this story Chihaya

"Chihayafull" is a "Hyakunin Isshu"("Uta-garuta")game story.
By the way,
I live in Gumma Prefecture in the Kanto district in Japan.
There, it is the cards called "Jomo Karuta".
