He looks...well, kind of female. But even though it's so obviously that it's Kai.
I even like the fact that his hair looks kind as if it wouldn't belong to his face in some way.
But really good job!

I really like the texture, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting if that was completely black
and there is something magical about the skin... don't quite know what it is
I envy your patience with all the detail in the hair
oh and if you have trouble with getting stuff really pitch black, no matter how good or bad your pencils are, I could help you with that ^^ it has been my main concern for years before I could get over it

not a problem, I like this drawing!
aaaand there are a lot of ways to get black really really really black black. Depends on what feel you want it to give
the most obvious thing is to use ink of course, really harsh black with a rather cold tone. But it's hard to make it blend in with your colored pencils unless you draw over it again and that is not a problem at all. But still it won't blend it, could be useful though
A better solution is to first watercolor it in a greyish color, doesn't even have to be really black because the watercolor holds the black colored pencil way better than just paper. Less effort to get black with colored pencils that way
Don't use markers, that black is never really black unless you buy these ridiculously expensive Japanese markers I have haha. And again, it won't blend so I don't even know why I mention this. and it's shitty because markers (again unless they're really expensive) change color a loooot when they dry but you knew that
What I prefer, and have found to be the best way, is to first do all your black with charcoal and then normally color with pencils after fixating the charcoal of course. I don't know how handy you are with charcoal nor how messy you are. I'm really messy and I've always managed so be sure to at least try it! yay
Charcoal is a rather brown black thus it's great when you draw pretty Jrockers because they are still, though it might seem hard to believe, human.
So short version: layer your black!
but like I said, I got over it because I ended up totally watercoloring my drawings first to get all my colored pencil colors intenser... and that's a little retarded so SHHHT no one must ever find out
ooh and to get cool textures, black crayon over colored pencil! Crayon is never evenly colored and it won't bother at all since there is already a black layer underneath
but I'm not sure you are a texture fan
I think that's about everything I tried already... oh forgot one
depending on how soft your black pencil is, you can always go over it with water, evening that shit out, worked really well for me too... and it's the laziest thing to do
Hope I was of any use
And yes, I always go insane with experimenting and combining everything oh and I blended my own ink so I can easily use it in colored pencil drawings
I'll shut up now, sorry
