This is a few years ago- I use to use non photo blue pencils from SANFORD- they stopped making those...SO i stop using non photo blue.
now i use a 3H pencil, then i go in with a mechanical pencils with 0.7 lead.

Depends on the deadline. I can do a page a day on a good day- i like to get in a warm up sketch or do some practice inking in there.
