Cathedral of St. Sofia, in N. Cyprus (occupied zone.)

Cyprus's largest and oldest gothic cathedral, built in the beginning of the 13th century. It took 150 years to be completed, and parts of the original plan were never built. It was converted into a mosque during the 16th century Ottoman occupation, with minarets added, and is once again a mosque since the 1974 occupation of this area by the Turkish army.

We heard the muezzin give the call (adhan), but none of the men around the area we were in seemed to pay any attention to it.
