why are cemetaries so interesting to so many of us??

I find them very peaceful and love to read the headstones. I also love to look at the different shapes of the monuments, as well. They're also quite useful as symbols and reminders, I find.
This cemetery is at Monticello and contains the grave of Thomas Jefferson, although his headstone is outside the frame.

I agree...By the way, I also like the many vertical objects in this photo: the trees, tombstones, and fence. Monochrome was a thoughtful choice, too.
