I can well imagine. Well, my travels have been somewhat limited (only went to Spain) and I have never traveled on a train! I hope to, one day.

Thanks! Me, too. Where I grew up, we had no trains, so to me, this is exotic!

TN? That's fabulous. I was thinking we should model ourselves after the Sydney Australia DA folks and try to get a mini devMeet going. BlackSatechi lives in Chattanooga, I think.

What they do is they get together for doing photo shoots as a group. It's a group energy kind of thing that can develop into some real creative interchange.

alimuse In reply to midykase [2008-04-22 11:28:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, there's never been one held near here. But it would be fun to get something going just like that, only here in TN. I'd be willing to bet that there are other DA artists who focus on traditional media who live in TN and would love to get together for coffee or something.

Thanks so much! I got some help in the black and white processing using something other than desat from Thonkus, and I really like the results. I'm still pretty ignorant with PS, but trying to learn as I go.

Alicia... you may already know this..but there are loads of free Photoshop Tutorials online. If I could, would sit all day and study them.. They are so very informative and you can come up with some gorgeous results.

alimuse In reply to Deliciaa [2008-04-21 14:14:17 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I'll check them out! My biggest problem is that I'm using an ancient version of PS, 7.0, so most of the tutorials have not been working for me. But, I'll continue looking through them.

I've always liked train tracks. So much chaos from the ground, steel here, steel there, this goes this way, this goes that, but from above, like in this piece, you can see the whole picture and realise, even chaos has it's sublime order.

Great comment, thanks! I remixed this doing the black and white according to your instructions, so that it included more detail. What do you think?
