Description This silly coyote either was oblivious to me, or just couldn't care less that I was following it.  After seeing it coming and retrieving my camera, I couldn't find it, and after looking around for a few minutes I was about to give up when I noticed it digging at something less then 40 feet from me.  It seemed to look at me a few times, like in this picture but it didn't act like it saw me at all.

OMG he's so handsome . Looking healthy there instead of skinny and starved.

Isn't he?  I think I encountered the same one two days ago.  I turned around and he was just staring at me.

Oh wow. That look on his face XD Beautiful wildlife is beautiful hehe. You are very lucky that you saw this creature and that is was such a calm encounter. The animals we have around here are quite cheeky. Sometimes foxes roam our garden and leave dead mouses or poop at our front door haha. Deer take a look inside our house through the kitchen window. Badgers are quite common here too. The biggest predators we have around here are wolves, but you rarely see them. They are coming over the border from Slovenia. About two months ago they found one dead on the rails not far away from our house. I was quite sad because wolves were native animals here. Civilisation sadly has repressed them. Now they are trying to come back but people won't let them.

I felt lucky. This is definitely the closest encounter I've had with one.  Well... beside the little one I grabbed. XD

That would be awesome! (about the deer)  I would love that.  It sounds like you live is a really cool place.

You grabbed one? Haha. I think he was more scared of you than the way round XD Well, I live in south styria, close to the slovenian border, on a hill with wine yards and forest all around us. The streets are small and the neighbors are far away. The wildlife here is awesome. The only thing that scares me is the fact that police sometimes encounters stray wild dogs, bears and boars breaking through the border fence from slovenia. But that rarely happens. And the animals around here, they do not fear us. Especially the deer. Last week, when I went outside with my dog, I saw three roe deer sleeping in our garden. So cute. And if you do not confront them, they will not flee. The problem is that they are also not scared of cars. If you meet them on the road, make sure you always drive slow past them or even stand still. They will sometimes approach the car to sniff it ^^ Already happened to me with a male one. I am just glad that the deer we have here are small and have no big antlers. www.hubertus-wildlocker.eu/ima…

I did. For some reason that was my reaction when he ran by.  Coyote - 14   That sounds like a beautiful place.  I wish I could like somewhere like that.

You're making me want to move there. Do you have much of a winter there?

Well, look at him. I think I could not resist to grab him either XD
Yeah I love it here. Summers are freaking hot and sunny. Sometimes it can also be a bit terrifying because storms are quite common here.
And winters like now are full of snow and temperatures, much lower than 0C°. On thursday we had -20C° up here and about 50cm snow.
And you? How do seasons look or feel like where you live?

I hate the heat. XD I was hoping you had a milder climate, otherwise I'd seriously consider moving there.  I love the sound of the winter though!  That sounds like the same kind we get here, but this year it's been more cold then snowy.

Hehe XD Yeah, me too... the heat is really intense here. And the thunderstorms are even more intense because of that.
Last years summer was one of the hottest we had for a long time with over +30C° and this winter is the coldest we had for a long time with its -20C°.
That's quite crazy. And I start feeling sorry for our deer. Poor babies can't find much food because of the snow, when they visit our garden we can see that they are quite wasp waisted and that you can count every rib. I know it is prohibited here to feed them, but we have a compost heap (where they are searching for food already) in our garden, and I started leaving old bread and apple slices for the deer in there. Now they are sleeping under the hedge next to my garage, not far away from the compost heap ^^' Great... Luckily my dog is not really interested in them. Lazy pup. They are not worth the scolding she gets when she tries to hunt them XD

I think it was one of the hottest here as well.  I think we got up to 32° at one point.  New years day this year was -30° XD

I would feel bad for them too. I thank you on behalf of the deer to help them out as you are.  Hopefully next year isn't so hard on them.

Yeah, well it is my property. When I put my garbage in the compost heap and the deer come and get it, nobody can prosecute me for doing something illegaly XD
And to be honest, although I grew up in the countryside (I was never interested to live urban), I still enjoy it to the fullest to watch the deer and hares in our garden.
Imagine, you are waking up and the first thing you can see is the sun rising above the wine yard covered in snow and a roebuck standing in front of your garden shed sticking his nose into your compost haha
Yes I hope so too. Otherwise I have to feed them again ^^ (The crows here already got the system too. They see me putting something into the heap and already gather in the tree above me. It is a bit creepy ^^')

Well that's good at least.
That would be incredible.  I know what you mean about not wanting to live urban. XD We're not nearly remote enough here.
