the highest there is.

that a sonneteer gives.

when I graze my knees,

whenever I sneeze.

Colour me beautiful,
make me a star.
Kiss me with linen
and throw me out far.

I'll look down again
whilst, hopeful, I'll shine.
And pray that your light
will cross paths with mine.

Our neon will lock,
star-crossed and low.
Our eyes curling with night
as rippling tears glow.

But if I turn grey
and your light burns out,
and I crash down to earth;
I won't cry, I won't shout.

I'd turn on our paradise,
I'd come back to life.
'Cause I've been thinking all day;
you'd make the prettiest wife.
