The Gray wolf (Canis lupus, Vlk eurasijský, Status: Least Concern) from Zoopark Chomutov, the Czech Republic.Oh my, I'm gonna miss this guy so much - he had to be put down today, because he stopped eating and they couldn't help him anymore
He was 16 years old, which is extraordinary and he had nice life - lately he has been sick, it was painful to watch him crying over his arthrosis Goodbye, old friend, rest in peace! So far there are no more wolves in Zoopark Chomutov - they want to make a new exhibit and buy new wolves there, so I hope it will be soon. I can't imagine visiting this zoo and seeing no wolves...

Wish I knew what to say. It's sad that an animal you get so used to taking pictures of, falls ill and passes away. I see this as him fading into white, being one with the snow. It's like the end of an era, which is always hard.
