"Domine exaudi nos"
"Fundite super holocaustum"
"Etiam secundo hoc facite"
"Etiam tertio id ipsum facite"
The text is derived from the Latin Vulgate Bible (1 Kings, chapter 18), where Elijah directs that his offering be doused with water before he prays for fire from heaven to light it.
It translates:
"O Lord, hear us."
"Pour it on the offering."
"Do it a second time."
"Do it a third time."
The artwork depicts a congregation of angels with peacock wings standing in a lake.

Thanks! It's a different experience looking at it in person. The vellum is actually semi-transparent.
