Lak Sivrak, a Shistavanen wolfman, is sneaking out of the cantina at Mos Eisley during a crazy bar fight.I did this illustration for Star Wars the card game in summer 2016. Originally i did my own Lak Sivrak version, making a wolfman more of my taste and with cooler head proportions but then there's something that sometimes happens working with this kind of franchises, that you have to fit an original concept even if it's head proportions are defined by the way the latex masks was made in the fx of the 70's decade, so i had to addapt my design making it more near to a portrait of the original character.
The architectural elements also fits the original Mos Eisley's cantina (more or less)

My favorite Star Wars alien species, and also one of my favorite character extras! I loved his story in the old Mos Eisley short story anthology.
This looks so great; I'm curious what you mean about having to draw with reference to the mask: is it the eyes? They do look like a human's eyes behind a mask.
I actually used to play the card game, and was so happy when his card was announced. This artwork wowed me then, and it still does!
Is there any chance you'll be able to post your original concept picture? I'm curious.
