I did this one while experimenting with watercolours (and how they worked with other mediums).
Had some trouble thinking up a name, so I'm sticking with 'Almost One', done from imagination.

I recently assisted in preparing a gallery for an exhibition which dealt exclusively with photography and photo manipulation of flowers. Your piece reminds me of one artist in particular. I can't recall his name, sadly... Chester something. He managed to manipulate his photographs in such a way as to create a washed-out, almost ghostly mirror image of the flower (he dealt primarily with orchids, as I recall). I get much the same sense from your work. The colors bleed into one another quite nicely, and evoke a clear image of petals. There is something quite light and ethereal aboutΒ the work.
I wonder; does the title have anything to do with he seemingly conflicted emotions of the two figures? The one on the right looksΒ quite passionate,Β while the one on the left looks reserved (almost reluctant).

Actually, when I painted this I didn't have the intention of having any conflicting emotions show, I suppose it might appear that way to some people, or may have been accidental!?! I'm not quite so sure myself

Ah yes... Chester Ng, I believe his name was. Incredibly talented, but it's extremely hard to find any of his work posted online. The exhibit was titled "The Language of Flowers" in Monterey, CA
