Description I take no credit for the graffiti whatsoever. I only take the pictures

My views on graffiti are split. I like some aspects, while others i dislike.
Graffiti done well can be fantastic to look at and can give character to a place. It brings colour to an otherwise plain grey wall.

But, only if this is permitted graffiti. Street art which has been given permission to be done.
Because otherwise, it wins no points from me.

Taggers, you are not cool.

Graffiti is no term for ILLEGAL or LEGAL, it's an unappreciated artform which unites artists from all over the world through art which only can be achieved by hard work and an incredible motivation.
You CAN'T say taggers aren't cool, tagging is an important part of graffiti, it's your trademark and it represents you as a writer.

I wrote the description for this photo a very long time ago; I do agree with what you're saying. I love street art and the graffiti culture of my city. If tagging is used as a signature, it is making the artwork recognisable to audiences as belonging to an artist, which I believe, like you, is very important. "Tagging" was used as a general term, where people use graffiti purely to vandalise property, not to express an art form, and I apologise for any offence.

Yes, there were some lights on the wall, kind of like transparent boxes that had lights behind them i think they were all advertisements, but they were placed very high up haha

There's a place in Melbourne
where people can go and do whatever graffiti art they want [:
And there are lightboxes too, so you can see it all glowy at night-time n__n.

Uhm...I don't actually know.
I don't live in Australia >< I just heard about it at school, we had a couple of local graffiti artists come and talk (they did a mural for our school's art block) and they had a whole slideshow with photos from this magical place in Melbourne!

Sorry!

Either way I believe that graffiti, legally done or other wise, is a form of art that can, at times, be more expressive than paintings or photographs or any other form of art. I appreciate it wherever it may be.

Also, this is a great picture and you captured it well.

Yes, I do agree with you.
This is an old photo, and I feel as if my view has been altered slightly.

I admit that those who resort to the illegal forms makes me sad, as being their creative output they are criticised.
There are several art meets within my city for legal graffitti displays, and I think that's great for those who choose this art style, because I love looking at it

Thank you.

Well, technically (gotta LOVE that word!), 'graffiti' which has been granted permission isn't 'graffiti' at all, it's 'street art', or a 'mural', depending on the nature of the work. 'Graffiti' is the term for the stuff which is ILLEGAL.

There's plenty of interesting stuff on the way home on the trainline. But it disgusts me that people would do that, vandalise just to brag "OMG LYK I PUT MA TAG DER OMG LOL". ...>_>'

Of course, I agree, but I wasn't exactly in the position to classify this.

Note that I put it in the "City Life" category and not in the graffiti and street art category.

Like I've said, I'm only the photographer, and if I can capture something, I'm happy.

Yyyyeeeeeeep.
Very sad that graffiti can be put in 'Citiy Life'. Ah well. Vandals everywhere.
