This is two years old, but this comment is so nonsensical that I have to ask. What in the world do you mean by "atheists praying to a god that doesn't exist"?Β

I get that its a contradiction, but the sentence started off like it was about to make an assertion and then used a contradictory scenario as some form of emphasis or example. The only reason that I am so perplexed is because using a contradictory statement to emphasize what I assume was meant as an absolute assertion actually has the effect of lessening the legitimacy of the assertion. I mean, the words "even if" would imply that your former assertion includes non-atheistic Atheists, but since that group does not exist it only confuses a matter which was originally quite straightforward. I'm probably just making more of it than I should and what I'm saying is just too hard to explain and I'm not making complete sense.Β

I strongly disagree with your opinion about your friend. While I'm not trying to one-up you in any waym It sounds like you're saying that she has no idea what she's talking about, While we can see brains through corpses and through surgery, (And very gory incidents,) It's just a common expression used by us Christians. She probably knows this too, but she might have just decided to use rhe easier route. I'll explain it a bit more thoroughly:
We believe in God, Not because we can see him, not because he leaves little hand written notes, but because he leaves evidence. For one thing, there is a cell in the body that is in the shape of a cross, called Laminin, and did you know that this cell holds the body together? Yes, this collection of proteins literally binds cells together and keeps the body from falling apart. I personally found this amazing. On to the next example, Did you know that in every cell of our bodies there exists a very detailed instruction code, much like a miniature computer program? As you may know, a computer program is made up of ones and zeros, like this: 110010101011000. The way they are arranged tell the computer program what to do. The DNA code in each of our cells is very similar. It's made up of four chemicals that scientists abbreviate as A, T, G, and C. These are arranged in the human cell like this: CGTGTGACTCGCTCCTGAT and so on. There are three billion of these letters in every human cell!!
Well, just like you can program your phone to beep for specific reasons, DNA instructs the cell. DNA is a three-billion-lettered program telling the cell to act in a certain way. It is a full instruction manual. How could something so grand and amazing happen to us by chance? And for my last example of this rant, These feelings that well inside your heart and your chest, do you honestly think they are purely scientific? That Love and hate were created by cells evolving over and over again? How could something so powerful and mind wracking be created by something so emotion-less and cold? Well, this is the end of my rant, I did not mean to Offend you, only to explain our beliefs a bit better
