There was supposed to be a new DBZ series this year but apparently its not real.

It was never even announced! All the new footage floating around on the internet was from the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade game and the cut scenes from Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi.
There was no word about "Hoshi" (where the hell do they get Hoshi from anyway??) from Akira Toriyama, Toei Animation, or FUNImation. It makes it pretty obvious.
Sorry if I sound bitchy, but I've gotten into a bunch of flame wars over this particular subject.
