It kills its prey with sharp canine teeth and has also become mildly venomous to ensure a quick kill. The badgerjack's venom is in its saliva and not administered in specialized fangs; thus, when it grooms its fur, traces of the poison are deposited on its coat, particularly along a greasy ridge of bristly hair along its back.
