Description Edit: Omg, people! I can't believe how many favorited this. Thank you so much! I know it's a small amount compared to other people on this site, but it means so much to me. Thank you all! <3

This is a woodburning that doubled as my friend's 21st birthday and a christmas present. I forgot to time how long it took. The burning was probably around 3-4 hours and I don't want to know about the drawing... maybe 5-7 if you total it all....

Anyway! This is not mine, was not made for profit, I don't own Boondock Saints or the prayer. I copied the picture by hand and wrapped the text around. That's it.

Shading is hard... I have high respect to anyone who can do it solidly.

Thank you! This is so old, though... If I had time, I'd attempt another Boondock Saints one.

I have to give you props! I mean I just recently gotten into woodburning so I can totally relate to the shading issue been practicing and seeing some improvement but not much. I'm actually going to be doing a Boondock Saints burning for my dad for his birthday coming up and seeing this makes me want to do burn it so bad. Seriously some good work!

Thank you! Aside from the shading, the lettering was the hardest, and that slip-up with the cross... Sandpaper is your friend. Maybe one day I'll do another one, when my shading is better... If you can get a detailer stylus, they burn at a lower degree and their point is smaller. It definitely helps with shading, but it just makes the overlapping lines smaller, more like dots...

Amarisa In reply to iheartspamface [2008-03-04 01:54:23 +0000 UTC]

^_^ Thank you! Shading's a bitch... I'm trying to not resort to turning the burner off in order to get different temperatures and thus different shading. One day I shall succeed! One day...
