I love trees too, this one is very expressive. A flying bonsai...

Very pretty. I agree - the tree really makes this one work.

It's the only thing that made it work XD It adds to the amount of negative space in the piece..

I think it anchors it well and gives it "place", making the negative space more airy. Coolios. Now the big question - did you really plan it to do that, or was it a happy coincidence? My vote's for the plan, because I've seen you use similar techniques before.

Well I wanted to create a sort of shadow of a bonzai(sp?) plant at the corner but then I thought it would be too plan. Basically the tree was meant to be there from the beginning.
Similar? How so? >:

What I meant was that you use negative space to good effect. Drips, Flow, a lot of the coloured ones have nice open areas that add a lot to the work.

Oh yes. It's a new art form I'm trying out right now. Instead of creating a complicating background and such I decided to draw the focus on the actual subject of the drawing so it could be viewed in a more deeper sense I guess.

Good plan. There's a lot of art out there that has a great subject, completely lost in a complicated background. The white space really brings out the subject - and it looks cleaner.

Yeah I'm starting to have a strange connection with the drawings I'm doing..it makes me think deep..and spoiling it with a complicating background would make it seem like a waste that others would not focus on that one part of the picture..

That's exactly why a lot of my pet paintings have no background at all.
