I used a rare Walnut Burl wood specie for the abstract background; Rosewood for the smaller fishes; Buttonwood, Maple Quilted, and Lacewood for the three larger fishes.Related content

i bought the print of "koi fish." very nice paper texture. i was stunned by all the details and shades of colors. imagine what it would be like with real wood! It would be really awesome.

It's funny, whenever I see koi fish I always think of the cartoon, Avatar: the Last Airbender, how the koi fish are the yin and yang of balance between the earth and the moon. This piece captures the serenity of koi fish very well
