Tired, beaten, bloody and victorious Knuckles limped over to his ivory beauty. Tears in her eyes as she ran over to him screaming.
Rouge: KNUCKLES!!
The scarlet fighter fell to a knee trying to stay conscious, looked up to see his ivory beauty jump and land on him.
Knuckles:...My ribs...
Rouge gasps and tries to hold her tears of joy back.
Rough: You did it....you....you beat him...
Knuckles looks and sees the body of the monster that threatened his world and the ones he loved.
Knuckles:...i guess i did. Where is shadow, sonic, tails, amy, cream and cheese, the others?!
he tried to sit up but he is pushed down and he coughs blood.
Rouge: They all got away...Mephiles arrived to help you but shadow had him move the others someplace safe...
Knuckles smiles lightly and reaches up to Rouge's face and wipes dirt away.
Knuckles:....thanks for coming back...I...I love you baby...
Rouge coveres her mouth as tears pour down her face.
Rouge: I love you!
She hugs him so tight and he tries to lift his arms and smiles
he closes his eyes and he never opens them again...

The problem with some stories and games nowadays is that they just don't know when to stop. So i thought why not have the hero die protecting everyone? It is sad yes, but it makes some sense in a way.
