Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

I would like to break this critique down into various steps in order to go over the four ratings I've given the image; the final portion would be the overall affect on myself. So let's get started.

Vision: I'll be honest here, I didn't understand what exactly was meant by "vision" and therefore had to look it up in the faqs. Anywho after reviewing the definition according to deviantart I decided to give the image an average since there isn't much to be said about vision here. There is no present point of view, no theme, and really no idea...

...except that I would be wrong to say all of that if I were to think of the word "idea" strictly in the realm of the intangible. You DID capture an idea, the idea that is Don Cheadle by creating a hyper realistic drawing which is in his likeness. The fact that I could tell who this person was from a small thumbnail tells me that you were very successful in this field.

Originality: It's hard for me to find something that is original and, therefore, worthy of giving a lot of stars over. To me it's about average in this category.

Technique: Your technique is stunning and well refined; I have seen many of portraits posted but have always been able to tell, after close inspection, the form of media used to created said image. In this case, however, you used a variety of shading techniques to make it difficult even when viewing the image at the closest setting to determine the media. You have definitely mastered using pencil to capture the world.

Impact: What initially had me come to this piece was the thumbnail of Don that popped up; the interesting thing was that I thought it was a high contrast photo of the celebrity and NOT a drawing. I get excited over being tricked by art like this so you could only imagine my astonishment when I saw this was a drawing. In my own personal case I'd say that you earned all five stars on Impact but that is my own bias in the end.

Final notes: This is an extremely successful drawing and I would be pleased to reach this level of realism with my own drawings one of these days. I thank you for giving a piece to aspire my skills to reach for; keep up the fantastic work.

They really should have just got him the first time around since Iron Man 1. Terrence Howard did not look like a Rhodey.

Good and there also who's Captain America. Chris Evans was more of the comedy type actor cause of "Not another teen movie" and he was already Johnny Storm aka the human torch in the Fantastic 4 movies. So they really should have gotten someone else to be the new live-action Steve Rogers aka Captain America.
