Description Entry for Traditional-Art-Only's Group Challenge "Animals": traditional-art-only.deviantar...

The ostrich shares the order Struthioniformes with the kiwis, emus, rheas, and cassowaries. It is distinctive in its appearance, with a long neck and legs, and can run at up to about 70 km/h (43 mph), the fastest land speed of any bird. The ostrich is the largest living species of bird and lays the largest eggs of any living bird (extinct elephant birds of Madagascar and the giant moa of New Zealand laid larger eggs).

first of all i am a huge fan for your works i see this as a completion of them.
the skill is so obvious the feathers are perfectly done and in a perfect order just like a natural one the legs are also well done i know you always choose hard work not just a typical easy one.
the point i should criticize about this work is the neck i think that there should be more emphasis about the neck from the background.
and another point is the white background i think it could have been better a natural one like a tree or grass.
overall an excellent and amazing work.

Thank you very much for you helpful words! I totally agree about the neck it seems as if it's floating in the air and disconnected from the body. I only wanted to focus in the ostrich's anatomy that's why I discarded the background

Such astonishing texture and detail on the feathers alone! The posture of this ostrich is brilliant and dramatically done. Well done on this; I don't believe that I can say much more, for I am rather speechless.

Such a big puffball of long bendy feathers... Weren't you daunted by such an intensive image? I definitely would have been! But you have executed your technique expertly as always
