For the current event thing, Germany's economy is on a steady rise as of late, and since they are in the whole Euro circle thing, they plan to give 10 million in aid to Greece to to help their massive debt.
As for Taiwan, a panda named Yuan Yuan was reported to be pregnant. Interestingly enough, the pinyin of Yuan Yuan's name is my name as well-[link]
And I researched this specifically because I'm a butt with no life. But on the bright side, it will help my economy project between Germany and Ukraine that I'm supposed to be working on right now...
For the World War 3 thing, I feel that any comical representation of a serious event will severely undermine the tragedy of it all. So I put this vague symbolic crap thing instead.

Well, it may be possible. But Germany is one of the richest countries in Europe, and it's GDP is growing. Greece, on the other hand, now has a 12-15% deficit. Since they are both in the euro zone, other countries want Germany to subsidize Greece so they can recover better.
