Sometimes. You can use just about anything with watercolors-salt, wax, wax paper, bleach, alcohol, milk....

You're welcome! You might think about checking out a book on watercolor, as it always helped me.

That's a photo? Omg I thought it was a scan! That's really good for a photo, seriously. I've taken photos of my work, and they never seem to turn out. So I just scan them into photoshop, and readjust the levels.

I have a pretty good digital camera, but I hate my scanner b/c it never makes the pictures look right. I put a little masking tape on the back of the painting, attatch it to a large board, put the camera on my tripod, and set it up by a window with light, then set the camera's timer for ten seconds, and let it take the pictures. I play with the colors a bit with photoshop and crop the edges. It doesn't take as long as it sounds, but that's how I get the best results so far. Besides, my pictures are usually too big to put in the scanner. Hope this helps you to take good pictures too!

You're welcome. If you live in the states, you can buy a tripod at walmart for $15. Mine is as cheap as they come, and I've been using it for years. Definitely worth the money!

yes, but also the color. if the color isn't right, it doesn't matter how well I draw the folds, people won't "believe" that it's realistic. However, it's something everyone works on, yeah?

I think I did. Look in my favorites for a fairy in front of a rose holding a rabbit.

your welcome!
the two best ways to draw or paint are from love of someone else or the love of what you are creating.

You are so right! If I wasn't drawn to something in my painting in the first place, I have a hard time completing it.
