Born in Kauai, Hawaii, Kye was raised with both his mom and grandpa. While little, he always enjoyed doing even the littlest things with his grandpa, whether it be surfing, cooking, or just walking the length of the beach. He grew up with a stress and worry free life, not having to worry about the things most people had to, like grades or work. He really was just a genuinely happy boy.

School was not the best in Hawaii. Teaching and structure wise it was just not up to par, and the parents that valued education often sent their kids to private school. Kye, on the other hand, didn't go to private school; and neither did his parents pressure him to. He just simply lazed his way through all of elementary and middle school, without a care in the world.

Instead of studying, Kye put his mind to better things. Bug catching and swimming was a favorite, but he had a soft spot in his heart for pottery. Something about the smoothness of clay and the spinning of the wheel made his heart race. While he was left with a disheveled, muddy shirt, cramping fingers, and caked nails his eyes always shone at the end product.

High school was a more or so less a breeze for Kye. He made lots of connections, collected good memories, and generally had a good time. While he knew his time in school was coming to an end, he made no effort to "smarten up" or anything of the sorts and just did what he liked. Relaxing.

Fast forward to graduation: it was time to pick his future. Kye didn't even bother going to College, as he felt it wasn't as important as everyone else made it out to be. In addition, his grandpa and mom, being the supportive and relaxed guardians they were, fully accepted his decision. Now, this wasn't the wrong choice, but it did contribute to his lack of responsibilities, especially when trying to make him take control of his own future.

Throughout his early twenties, Kye stayed in Hawaii, occasionally traveling to the other nearby islands but never straying far from home. But, alas, he eventually got bored with the hot tropical weather, sunburns, and loud vacationers. So, on a whim, he decided it was time to bounce. His mom and grandpa, though worried, allowed him to live his life, afraid to restrain his opportunities.

So, once "prepared" and armed with his well-arranged trust fund, he moseyed his way on out of Hawaii. Obviously, he didn't have a plan, but soon enough, he found himself on the shores of Lichbarrow. Face planted into the sand.
